Olaya Amor Gutiérrez
Olaya Amor Gutiérrez obtained her B.Sc. Degree in chemistry in 2014 at the University of Oviedo, and her M.Sc. in Analytical and Bioanalytical Sciences in 2015 at the same University, with the work entitled “Paper-based enzymatic biosensor”.
In July 2020, she obtained the PhD in Chemistry with International Mention at the same University, with the highest mark given by the Thesis Committee: “Sobresaliente Cum Laude”. Her PhD Thesis, entitled “Miniaturized (bio)electroanalytical devices based on low-cost substrates”, based on the development of point-of-care devices using low-cost substrates for the determination of several analytes with clinical, alimentary or environmental interest, such as bacteria, Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers, allergens or glucose, using nanomaterials, enzymes and electroactive molecules as labels. During her Doctoral Thesis, she did a predoctoral stay in Università degli Studi di Firenze (Florence, Italy), funded by an Excellence Mobility Program for Lecturers and Researchers at University of Oviedo, in 2019. Since August 2020 is part of Healthsens S.L.
She has been involved in different funded research projects, both by the Government of Principado de Asturias and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Spain. She has published 11 peer-reviewed scientific articles in high-impact journals, and two Book Chapters. She has also presented communications in more than 20 national and international conferences.
